I love working with pastels on acrylic paintings. The line work gives an added element to the composition and the immediacy of the medium is so exciting and rewarding... do you use soft or oil pastels in your work, and if so, which are your favorite? Have a beautiful evening, everyone!! ❤️✨xoxo • Message me if you want to own an original piece of art or say it in the comments! • 👉🏼For more like this, follow me @jayceeoliverart and tag a friend! . . . . . #visionaryart #intuitiveart #abstraction #abstractart #abstractartist #abstractpainting #acrylicpaintings #abstractexpressionism #expressionism #expressionist #markmaking #mixedmediaart #contemporaryartist #abstracto #gallerist #artistatwork #intuitivepainting #inrealtime #abstractobsession #moderndecor #acrylicart #artcollections #contemporaryartcollector #abstracters_anonymous #paintvideos #timelapsevideo #livepainting #artvideo #instavideo #videoart

Sometimes it's best to start over. . . Often I get frustrated by my seeming inability to focus on one thing. I try my best to flow with it though as fighting it leads mostly to inactivity. . . #workinprogress #painting #startingover #ontheeasel #homestudio #artistsofinstagram #artistsstudio #abstract #capturingfeeling #place #intuitiveart #noplan #magicplace #abstraction #expressionist #oncanvas #glasgowartist #glasgowart #artflow

Hi everyone. With this new piece I have an announcement to make: I will be taking a small break from Instagram. Maybe a couple of weeks, maybe a few months. The reason is I need to explore my creativity without the pressure and expectations regards posting on social media. For almost a year, I've been going back and forth with my style and medium, because my life has been too hectic to really focus on my art. I'm constantly torn between different styles: abstract linedrawing and doodling, landscape painting & expressionist painting... That is ok and part of the process of growing as an artist. BUT the problem is I find myself getting stressed and anxious about posting on social media, because I have a desperate need to find a consistent style first. I know I could share anything I wish to create, but it doesn't feel good when my whole artistic identity keeps twisting and turning like a whirlwind. At this point I need to create in my own bubble, at my own pace, in peace. That way I'll hopefully get a clearer vision of my truest style. That being said, thank you for still following me - and I hope most of you stick around through this! I love all of you who have supported me through wildleafink times, painting phases and everything in between. Right now I'm gonna crawl into my cocoon, so that I'll evolve into the butterfly I was supposed to become. Thank you and I'll be back! 🦋
